After a thorough training period, you will take on the daily management of our internal logistics team of about 15 employees. You will work in a day schedule (08:00–12:00 and 12:30–16:30), while your team operates in early and late shifts.
You will be responsible for organizing daily logistics operations and ensuring smooth collaboration with internal customers (production, planning, purchasing, …) and external partners. In this role, you coach your team, ensure structure and efficiency, and create a positive working atmosphere.
Your responsibilities will include:
Directly managing forklift drivers, warehouse operators (inbound & outbound), cleaner, and staff at the external warehouse.
Stepping in flexibly during absences, holidays, or peak moments.
Coordinating and optimizing logistics activities to guarantee excellent service.
Working closely with production, planning, and supporting departments (QA, Projects, Maintenance, Lean).
Managing staff evaluations, polyvalence, and training within your team.
Following up on absences, approving holiday requests, and participating in hiring and termination decisions.
Initiating improvement proposals regarding safety, efficiency, order & cleanliness, and quality.
Monitoring and stimulating the Idea Management System (IMS) within your team.
Investigating root causes of non-conformities and implementing sustainable solutions.
Experience in a logistics environment, ideally with initial leadership experience.
Forklift and/or reach truck experience is mandatory.
Fluent in Dutch (spoken & written) with good knowledge of French (understanding & sufficiently speaking). English is a plus.
Able to perform under pressure and manage rush orders in a structured and efficient way.
Hands-on attitude and willingness to step in where necessary.
Strong people skills to motivate and guide your team effectively.
Proactive, responsible, and results-oriented.
